Hello everyone, I will have a few spots free out of my 15 activities and was wondering if it would be worth it to list a few certifications I have in one of the spots. I am CPR/BLS certified, Certified to give immunizations, and certified in something called Medication Therapy Management. Would this be worth making a spot for or should I just leave it out?

Doesn't hurt.

Unless you've done some real incredible work as a result of one of those certifications. I'd group them all together under one heading. Also make sure that you have something to say about them other than you got certified. If this is asked about in the interview and you have nothing else to say other than you completed a certification program, I don't think anyone will be all that impressed.

Better to mention them in the same space as the role in which you use them, than on their own without context. Alternatively, you could have a space dedicated to the experience of having earned those certifications (under "Other").

O I was definitely not going to list them separately, and was going to put them under one heading. I don't have much to say about them though. In NY i can't immunize as a pharmacy intern, can't bill for MTM as a pharmacy intern, and thankfully have never had to perform CPR on someone.

So then my question would be: what are you going to say in the off chance you're asked about those experiences in interviews?

Really the only thing I could say is that the MTM certification helps me analyze a patients complete medication profile better, which would come in handy as a physician. The other two are kinda useless as a physician lol... Maybe I won't list them then...

CPR is not useless as a physician. Do not say that at your interview lol. Actually, isn't it required that all doctors be CPR certified? Certainly for some specialties. The reason your certifications aren't that interesting isn't that they are useless. It's that they don't really make you stand out. Anyone can get CPR certified in like an hour (that's how long it took me). However, if you actually performed CPR in a real situation, that would stand out since it is a very unique experience...good practice...leadership...etc.
