Worth it to take upper-level bio electives?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
From what I know, all of those will help familiarize you with what you would see as a first year med student, however, take what you need for you major/minor and other classes you would enjoy, seeing as you have so much time. If your GPA needs help, take a few extra easy classes you know you can get an A in, plus you can learn something new. Good luck!

My first recommendation would be broadening your scope of interest and taking other kinds of classes (assuming you can get a good grade in them). For example, I plan on taking some language classes, some math classes (linear alg/diff. equations), maybe some programming classes, and a psychology minor.

If you're really set on biology electives, I hear that neuroscience and immunology are some of the courses that med students struggle the most with, since most lack a lot of exposure to these two subjects and there are a lot of terms to become familiar with. Taking them would probably make your med school experience smoother.

I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on histology (just because many dislike the undergrad course), but I hear it can also be helpful to have previous exposure on this once you're in med school.

Pretty much this.

Ok yeah I should probably see how my GPA is gonna be since I have no easy classes anywhere... my problem is that I'm really only interested in medical classes.. but I might try to put in another psychology class or something. Thanks, everyone!
