Hello,
So I am currently awaiting to hear back from the schools I have applied to (17 of them). I am a Canadian student applying with a 3.36 cGPA, a 3.1 sGPA, and a DAT of 20/20/22. If I were to do a MSc program in kinesiology and health science with 4.0s would that increase my chances? Thanks in advance.

All the best,
Seenary

Of course it would improve your chances. It may not be necessary but if you want to pursue a MS in one of those fields, go for it.

I just did a MSc in Athletic Training, and I definitely think it helped me get an interview. I think any masters degree in the health sciences will give you a leg up on others with just an undergraduate degree. Plus the information you will learn will be of practical use once you get to dental school.

I appreciate the input!

So then would the marks I get in the Masters program get average out with my undergrad marks? Or will I still be applying with my undergrad GPA and an additonal degree (the masters)?

Thanks again!

The courses that were in my masters program did get factored into my overall and science GPAs. They will not affect your undergrad GPA though. I did take a couple of science undergrad courses after completing my masters, and those get calculated into a post bac. GPA, not undergrad GPA.
