Would any of the positions in this hospital serve as adequate for volunteering?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you're looking for clinical experience, any of the positions in patient areas would satisfy that.

See I wasn't sure, because when I think of clinical I think or being a nurse or something involved. The most you do with patients in any of those spots is talk to them, wheel them around, or bring them food.

That is the extent of what an untrained volunteer can do, and you're lucky you have the chance to even do that (NONE of the hospitals in my area even offer clinical positions to volunteers.) While more involved experience would count as well, you'd have to be employed to have more responsibility, probably get a CNA certification or something. Just know that doing the tasks you listed is perfectly normal and adequate for a hospital volunteer.

thanks for the feedback! I'm going to go on a 6 month commitment.
