Would anybody recommend Virology

It seems extremely interesting. To those who have taken it, what did you think?

Not as cool as immunology!!!!

Micro courses can be EXTREMELY dry... like worse than your grandma's turkey.

Immunology is not dry IMO. I think it's the coolest stuff ever.

Taking immuno next semester as well as microb. genetics so can't say much for them.

Microbiology had to be the more boring class for me (but then again it does have quite a bit of information available).

Virology classes I believe can vary. In my class it was more based on the genes and the mechanisms in which the viruses replicate and what unique genes there are in each class of viruses. Pretty fun stuff tbh and it just makes you realize that viruses are some crazy sobs.

That's gonna be a fun semester...🙄

I would recommend Virology if you have a very, very solid basis in genetics.

Otherwise it won't be fun at all and you'll be playing catch up the whole time.

It's a lot more interesting than microbiology, though. Though microbiology stuff can show up on your MCAT (a lot more so than virology) so it's nice to have that background.

Heh, so I hear 😛. But 👍 on the microbio content on being on the MCAT.

micro was SOOO boring lol.

immuno was more interesting but god **** a lot harder lol.

virology i hear is a little dry, but still pretty cool. haha.

not very detailed in my response now am i? haha its cuz i really don't know what to tell you. i've had bad experiences w/ immuno and micro. i can only assume i wouldn't like virology also lol

geez, am I the only one who loved microbiology? I'd love to take a virology class too.

I took microbiology, med micro, then virology.

Virology was really cool and the case studies we did were fun too. Also in my opinion it wasn't as bad as our micro class or med micro (I got A's in all 3 btw)

Take it if you can!

Just took Virology this last quarter 👍 absolutely loved it...one of my fave science electives I've taken as an undergrad so far! my professor was awesome, the class was awesome, just...awesome 😍

I really enjoyed virology. Can't say it was the most useful class for the MCAT b/c anything that you learn in it that can be helpful you will cover in one of the other classes listed above. However it was really interesting. I took it before I had any genetics or micro background my sophomore year( I think at the same time I took cell molec bio) and it really wan't a big issue. I might have been slightly behind everyone else to start but it really wasn't that hard to catch up. If you are interested in it take it.

I'm a micro major, so I loved my microbio class..but I did like immunology a lottt better. I'm taking virology with a lab in the spring after microbial physiology in the fall and I can't wait for it
