Would I be considered a reapp?

I had submitted my amcas this past summer, but did not fill out my secondaries due to a low august mcat score. Would I be considered a reapp even though I did not complete my app at any school? I also did not formally withdraw any of my apps. Just didn't fill out the secondaries.

I would say yes, but call the schools directly. They are probably the only ones that can tell you either way.

i dont think you would be. to me an application is the primary, secondary (ESPECIALLY THE PART WHERE YOU PAY THE SCHOOLS 😡 ), and LORs.
dont forget, schools dont even glance at incomplete apps. (ok there are a few exceptions - but i'm convinced those are accidents)

This subject came up at an applicant support group I go to. Dr. Jose Sandoval, a chair on UCI adcom, says yes you are considered an applicant (or reapplicant...depending on your situation) once you've submitted your primary application, which got sent out to schools and got the ball rolling. You would not be considered an applicant/reapplicant if you started filling out the primary app but never submitted it (which is what I did when I decided to take a year off). Good luck. 🙂

I am sure that this question has come up before. A quick call to AMCAS would resolve the issue.

I would bet that you would be considered a reapplicant, though. It's no big deal, though. No school will have considered your application, and wanting to improve your MCAT is a good reason for delaying your application. Believe me, you only want to go through the application process once! It is very time consuming, money consuming, and emotionally draining.

i hate to say this...unfortunately that is what happened to me 2 years ago and i called amcas and you are a reapplicant...i had to write that on all of my 2ndaries this year. well, the thing is they usually ask you about it in the interview and you can explain then what happened. good luck!!!!

You are indeed a reapplicant. Not that I am any better, but the instructions should always be carefully read before rather than after doing something.

With regard to the MCAT, which you didn't ask about, once the test starts, even if you decide to cancel a minute later or before you leave, you are considered to have taken the test.

It is not as trivial as it seems. They are already testing your powers of observation and attention to detail even before you get to an interview.
