How bad would it look if I took calc-based physics for the first semester and algebraic physics for the second semester? Wouldn't it look like I was too scared to take calc-based again? It's not like they would say something to me; they would just reject me and I wouldn't get to explain, and if I were to bring it up myself it would sound pathetic and they would likely reject me anyway. Right?

Don't med schools look down on people that take physics from other schools? The only options for physics for me at my school:
1. Take it this summer w/ a professor that I have heard is a bad teacher and is very demanding (calc-based)
2. Take it in the fall from a professor that my brother said cannot speak English and is known as being the worst physics professor at our school (calc-based)
3. Take it this fall with the professor that is known as being the best and easiest professor in the department (algebraic)

I would love to take from the professor in the fall that is teaching the algebraic class, but I took calc-based my first semester. I just think it would look terrible on my transcript 🙁

no, i don't see a problem, besides the whole point is that you get A's to raise your gpa or keep it where it should be, I mean i hear annoying stories of people who get into med school with low gpas or a low mcat scores, you really think the admissions is going to cut your head off with a decision to take a class? lol From what i see, people get into med schools with like english or basketweaving (well not actually) degrees who don't even take much advanced level physics courses or a whole lot of crazy math courses, so I don't think this plays much of a big part on your overall application in my opinion.

I feel like a rejection based on a physics didactic paradigm change is about #977 on the list of things to worry about. Just take the class. It fits better in your schedule, and it's still physics. 'Nuff said.

I took Physics with Calculus I, one semester and Physics with Algebra II the following semester; I did much better on the calculus physics...

P.s. Stop tripping out. they don't go through your transcript and make a web, as if, they were reliving your under graduate degree.

you arent the first person who has done that. a number of my friends started as engineers (which required calc-based physics) but then switched to arts/science majors (which some only need algebra based physics) and they did fine. just get a's and enjoy the professor while your friends get to either spend their summers slaving away or their regular year decoding arabic/chinese/french/urdu/pick a language that is interspaced with english.
