Hi all, I am thinking of doing med school and then fellowship training. However, I'm unsure if bringing this up in applications would be good and i suppose i'm looking for some advice or feedback about how to talk about it in my personal statement and interviews.
Thanks in advance!

Someone can correct me if i'm wrong but I don't see how would be a bad idea. Are you worried about stigma? I currently work in a lab run by an MD, and plenty of doctors who are straight MDs conduct research.

Pretty much. I suppose i also worry that the admissions committee may question my interest in pursuing a career in medicine but i suppose that may be insignificant if anything.

yeah I dont think you have anything to worry about 🙂 This is a huge field and even among folks with solely MD degrees not everyone is strictly a clinician- if research interests you then you shouldnt be afraid to bring that up.

I suspect that it will be bad for mission-based schools like SLU, Drexel, Rush, etc. For the research ******? Fine, but you'd better have the research bonafides and stats to back it up.
