I am taking organic I and physics I in the fall. Would it be a good idea to go to the professor and ask for the syllabus from last semester/year to prepare over the summer?

The syllabus really wouldn't having anything on it except a schedule of the class/time outline for chapters/how to calculate final grade/what is graded/books needed/ office hours etc..
I mean, if you're absolutely bored over the summer, you can always order the book and read through it for fun. That way everything won't be completely new to you once the semester starts. But honestly if you're not getting close to taking the MCAT, you might as well enjoy your summer and do something fun. 😉
It wouldn't hurt. I actually like getting the syllabus ahead of time (from the previous year) just out of curiosity. The syllabus for a course like organic chemistry is probably going to be the same or very similar each year (assuming the same prof) though.
