C'mon! The hospital's volunteer coordinator is hugely pregnant and I think was put on bedrest but she took my file home. I haven't heard anything but I don't entirely blame her, obviously. I just wish I would have known about it sooner.

I also contacted the elementary school tied to my church, and PAL last week, but so far, nothing from either (I wouldn't be surprised if the school was closed for most of last week, though). There is a program at the local library that helps people prepare for the GED and I was thinking about getting involved with it, but they don't train new people until March to April and I was hoping to start somewhere before that. Now it looks like I won't be able to start anywhere until March so I might as well call them tomorrow.

yay! Life of an opportunistic premed. Look for some Scribe programs in your area. Worst comes worst, go to a hospice, or a VFD. There should be plenty in your area.

Same thing has happened to me. I have played phone tag for about two months with this physical therapist who is supposed to give me an orientation. Finally he got back to me after I left a ton of messages. Just keep at it.

I am going to hound them this week. We got buried in snow in the past 9 days so I am trying to be forgiving but I am frustrated.

It took 3 months after I applied for my current hospital volunteering position before they even got back to me.

Then show up for orientations/interviews.
I now have 4 volunteer badges for 4 different hospitals...
