would Retaking classes help?

Hi I am biology major I got C in chemistry at CC last semester and I was thinking of retaking it in a different college, I am freaking out that I won't get in to dental school because of that C. if I retake the class would they look at the newest grade the "better" grade or the first one is the one that count

Both classes will be averaged together (ie, both will be calculated in your GPA). So if you retake it and get an A, overall it will just count as a B towards your GPA, and schools will be able to see both grades.

If I were you, and if this was an intro series Chem class, I wouldn't retake and would instead do well in upper division courses (especially ochem and biochem). On the other hand, if this was an upper division course, then yeah I would maybe retake it, but maybe not because it seems like it's your only C. You're fine if you choose not to retake (only a C- and below will not be allowed for pre-reqs).

It was chem 1 class and it is my only C but the college I go to don't have the C- or C+ system they just but C in the transcription so do you think that it should be fine
