Before I finished undegrad I took 2.5 credits in my final year (health issues year before forced me to take an extra year). I then did an MPH. After my MPH , I took two full year courses while I looked for full time work. In total I have take 4.5 credits in my last two years registered as an undergraduate (GPA 4.0). Would this be considered an upward trend? or would this have no affect whatsoever.

Edit: my previous GPA was 3.45 beforehand . With these courses, I have my total CGPA to exactly 3.5.

If I asked you: who has a higher GPA? Me or my friend? My friend has a 3.7.

What would you answer?

My apologies. My previous GPA was 3.45 and with these 4.5 courses, it became 3.5.

If your last two years were a 4.0, it will definitely be noticeable.

Good job!

Thanks. The only thing that concerns me is that they weren't BCPM courses and that I didn't take five full year courses per year

Can you please explain your name? Because I'm sure you didn't adopt a reference to toking as your e-premed moniker

It refers to my previous habit of enjoying cigars. I gave it up a while ago, but still enjoy collecting them.

I don't know how they count course credits for you, but as long as you were a full time student, it really shouldn't matter.

I wasn't a full time student by the technical definition (i.e 3 course/year) . I took 2.5 and two because i have a medical condition. would med schools just ignore it?

You could just say "I took a lighter course load because I was trying to get a job to keep a roof over my head."

Because there isn't an ad-com on the planet that won't be able to relate to the struggle of just trying to live your life after college.

Or you can try to tell them a sob story and risk them going "LOL OKAY."

Good point, and they're both true. Thank you very much. I guess I'd have to put it in my AMCAS application somewhere.
