Hey, guys. I need some advice on whether I should take this schedule this fall/spring. I will be a sophomore and I want to have completed all my pre-reqs so I can take the MCAT in August.

Fall:

Principles of Chemistry 2w/lab
Principles of Biology 1w/lab
Organic Chemistry ( lecture only)
Elective

Spring:

Principles of Biology 2w/lab
Organic Chemistry 2( lecture only)
Organic Chemistry 1 lab
Molecular Cell Biology
Elective

Introductory Bio at my school was pretty intense, depends on what your peers say.

That looks fine. The elective should be brainless.

First, can you take your gen chem 2 class with Orgo 1? Have you already taken physics? Are those gonna be the only class you'll be taking next year? Are you dedicated enough to do all this?

I the answer to anyone of my questions is no, then I would have to say yes you are being insensible.

Anyone will tell you that academic performance trumps how long it takes you to complete your classes.

Why not spread out a few of those classes and take them fall of your junior year? That way you can take the MCAT spring of your junior year and still have time for a retake if its needed.

Is there a reason you are trying to cram all the pre-reqs into your first two years?

how can you take orgo without Chem1 ? At my school Chem1/2 are prereqs to orgo.

Assuming he's a freshman now, I'm guessing he's finishing up gen chem this semester.

OP, that looks like a very manageable schedule to me.

I would suggest taking gen chem 2 over the summer if possible, assuming that you took gen chem 1 this semester, you forget allot over 3 months and chemistry is something that build on itself, other than that your schedule seems fine.

btw 2 semesters of physics, english, and calculus are also pre reqs too, so i doubt u'll be finished with all your pre reqs by sophomore year, just saying =]
