Sorry, I just need to vent!

I have been studying for 6 weeks straight...very few breaks except work and family stuff and Destroyer is killing me. I generally suck at math and the reading comprehension is also not what I expected.
My last 3 Crack Reading tests were 19, 17, & 17.
My highest CDP was 21

I study 6-10/day. I watched Chad's gen chem 2xs, and his orgo 1x. Did all quizzes. I get about 1/2 of destroyer questions wrong every 25 questions.
I just don't want to take my test and feel as though I wasted my summer studying for sub-par scores.

Sorry to be a downer, hopefully I just get out of this funk soon.

Hey there.

My DAT is in 8 days.

I don't know what it is but I think I was in a slump up until a little ago too (a week ago ish?)

The whole thing was more or less getting discouraged by learning/studying. The first thing I did was go through Destroyer for all sciences, and then I took 3 achievers. In retrospect, I think I just went straight into the hardest stuff you could ever use to study for the DAT and was like you gotta be f***ing kidding me.

Then somewhere amidst going through this and that, I stumbled upon Datqvault, gave it a try, and my scores started jumping up to 24-26. From the looks of it, I was using way overkill materials for sciences and RC, although I still have high suspicions that qvault is too easy because of this sudden change in score.

As for PAT, after reading breakdowns, I feel as if PAT more closely resembles achiever. I initially kept getting 18-19 on CDP, but after going through 4 achiever PATs, I took another 2 CDPs and got 22s.

I don't know what to say for QR, as that seems to be my strongest section. I think I need to brush up on some probability & statistics along with some obscure trig equalities that I probably forgot while stuffing in 500 notecards worth of biology information. Datqvault is also nice for this because it organizes all of its probability/statistics/trig questions into categories so that I don't have to waste time going over algebra.

I guess I'm kind of ranting too, but if there was a point to this at all, it's that

1) I went through the hardest questions you could possibly go through, got discouraged, and then went back to some more realistic questions and was pleasantly surprised. Now I actually kind of feel ready for the DAT. Maybe you should try qvault and just use destroyer as a reference.

2) I think you will eventually get to a point where your scores start increasing. I have this theory that normally when you study for your classes, you have this general feeling of how much you need to study, whereas for the DAT, it's on a much larger scale and you probably guessed wrong about when you should be ready. I didn't feel like this a week ago, and now I feel as if I'm 80% done.

Venting is good. I feel as if I go on SDN 20% of the time specifically for DAT stuff and then 80% of the time for some recreational posting. 😛
