Hey guys,
I underestimated how difficult my classes were gonna be this semester and with the MCATs, I think that I might of really screwed up 🙁 I took a p-chem exam yesterday that was extremely extremely difficult then right afterwards, I hear that the professor failed 1/3 of his class last year. Now I'm shooting for like a B/B+ in psych (which is supposed to be a very easy course)and A/A- in two of my other classes. I guess I'm looking for words that'll make me feel better, and also I would like to know if medschools will recognize that it was the semester you took the MCATs and that P-chem is notorious for being really difficult? Just a horrible horrible semester...I definitely don't need this three weeks before I apply to medschool, blah.

just hang in there!! I had a hard semester also got a D in chem I, but I am not letting that stop me from tsking the next level. I'm pretty sure you will be fine in your chem class, just keep your head up!! 😍

yes, medschools generally do ask about dips in grades. i was taking the mcat, applying, volunteering, struggling to keep my team together while school was going on and had like the worst quarter of my career prior to starting yr 5 in undergrad.

solution: make your last year awesome. not awesome for the adcoms -- awesome for you. i started taking fun classes (and some easy ones, not for the amcas, but just b/c the good grades, though in easy classes, would make me feel better about myself). dated a lot more. rocked crew. ran out of time volunteering, but visited the hospital just to hang out and help around whenever i felt like it. played a lot of nintendo.

remember, a good applicant has had a good run. a better applicant has had a bad run and made the most of it without letting it get her/him down.
