hey you guys,

more than one person has emailed me telling me that going the postbacc route is wrong and I should be getting a masters instead? I know we don't anything until I reapply this summer, but is it so wrong? That was the advice given to me by prehealth advisors...
I don't want to post my story again (its on the stats page)...

what do you guys think? I think I have a better shot this time around, but maybe I'm not being realistic? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Hey SImseema..i did the postbac thing and it worked wonders..just make sure to take classes in HIGHER LEVEL SCIENCE...not just easy A classes..you gotta prove you can do it..what i did was applied to a grad program (oral biology) as a Non-Matriculated student..that allows you to take grad courses (such as oral histology) and get a grade for it but you will not get a grad degree for it.. and you will have to retake it in dental school again. I thought it was worth it cuz you can experience dental courses while still being a postbac....but i only took oral bio classes for a qtr cuz then i got in...so i am gonna chill utnil Aug....just do the post bac thing,(unless you really want to get a grad degree in a particular subject) and do well in those classes...you can do it🙂

simseema,
the postbacc route worked great for me. i was not accepted to any schools last year. have been taking upper level post bacc courses ever since and now i have been accepted to multiple schools this year. i would recommend this route vs getting a masters.

SimSeema,

I was enrolled in a Biology Masters program for only a semestar and was accepted. I think more schools are not concerned with you saying that your in a masters program unless your going to finish it. Make sure you let them know that you are taking upper level science courses and getting B or better in all of them. Thats the key trust me I was in the same boat as you. You will get in I promise you!!!

whooooppeee! thanks guys! now I can have a better day....whoo hoo
