Anybody who applied to WVA has heard something from them yet? My status is still blank 😕
 
Have you gotten a secondary application from them yet?

My AADSAS is blank as well. I received a secondary from them and sent it back on August 22. I have not heard anything to date but that is probably because I had a hard time getting the required physics prof LOR, which finally got sent out last week. I hope once they get it and review my completed application I get an interview invite.
 
I sent in my secondary the 1st of Sept, received an interview invite on Sept 11th for the 26th.

They interview 10 people per day (once a week I think), and mine was during the second date of interviews.

Also, at the time, they had only received one of my LORs so I don't think they look at that very much.

EDIT: My AADSAS is still blank from them.

i have my interview w/ them THIS FRIDAY...

i got my 2ndary from them right around the end of august/beginning of september can't remember...

i know that they DO screen their apps and send 2ndaries to applicants they think are qualified or whatever...check their website FAQ it says something about it:


Question 3:
Does the West Virginia School of Dentistry have their own application form?
Answer:
The initial application is obtained from the AADSAS at their website www.adea.org . Once the initial application has been received and reviewed by the WVU SOD Admissions Committee, secondary applications are sent to certain candidates from the WVU Health Sciences Office of Admissions & Records as the Admissions Committee specifies.

So they will send you secondary application? I haven't received anything yet. It like they have ever received my 1st application which was sent by AADSAS. What should I do?
 
If I'm disqualified, at least they have to notice that I'm rejected. No idea
 
they had`my app by july 16. I have not even heard from them regarding application fee!!! I emailed them 3 time, but nothing from them.
Any suggestion?

Yea I'm instate.

You all that are having questions should call them. They are extremely nice on the phone.

I just emailed them to ask for my application and they answer is we can't talk about application by phone or email... wait for us contact you...
And right the next day, I received email to notice that they received mine, and it is under review, if I'm qualified, they will send me a second application. My status is still blank
 
Speaking of email...they actually had every single email i've ever sent them when I went for my interview. Some of the questions they asked me came from them. I was a bit shocked to see that they actually save emails with the applications.

I got an interview next month via snail mail.

It mentioned a short writing assignment while we were there.

Does anyone have any info about that? I didnt know anywhere did that.
 
The writing part is really no big deal. This was a very relaxed part of my day. When I was there, we had to choose 2 of 4 questions to answer. I think we were given approximately 10 minutes to answer the 2 questions. During my interview, there was no mention of my answers to these questions. You will be just fine. Good luck!

hold up, we need a LOR specifically from a physics professor? what the hell, i didnt see this anywhere...

Yea I read that on WVU's website, and when they sent my secondary to me, they included a letter stating that they wanted one from each of bio, chem, and physics.

However, they will also accept a pre-professional committee or comprehensive recommendation letter. And in my case, since I'm a dental hygienist, they asked me to supply just a single letter from one from the 3 major sciences, and 2 from my dental hygiene program.

nice, i got the committee going for me, which is nice...

i still havent heard back though, submitted in early july. weird.
