Hello everyone,
I recently received notification that I've been accepted for 2007 incoming class at WVSOM!! I am very excited my wife and I (we have no kids) love the Lewisburg area and we were wondering if someone could give us an honest opinion about the Lewisburg area (cost-of-living, neighborhoods, weather). It will be great if someone could give us a general idea of what it's like to be a student there and if you have a spouse there what are their feelings and opinions about Lewisburg. Any information will be very useful thank you all and good luck.

If you are set on WVSOM, you need to start looking for housing RIGHT NOW!
Cause things fill up really really fast.

I found a really nice place for $360 a month. Some people rent out at the apartment complexes behind the school, but they're more expensive ~ $450 a month for a two bed room place.

Others go out of town to WSS and Roncervete and you can get places for $290 a month.

Don't bother getting cable TV cause you won't have time for TV.

Hi, Not sure if this will tell you anything beyond what you may already know, but I posted on the OPM site, my "review" of the school and area. I went back there a month or so ago to check it out. I was accepted in a program I think they started this year (?) where they accept a few folks, early admissions, without an interview. It was strange, and I thought it was a scam at first when I got the letter. I went back there not expecting much because of the fact that they would accept someone without meeting them (who said that famous quote: "I wouldn't be a member in a club that would have someone like me for a member" ?) 🙂 In the end, I won't be going there, but more because of geographical reasons (and they are so friggin expensive) than anything else. I would sure love living in that area, I think!

Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised at both the school, the faculty that I spoke with, the PBL class I sat in on, and the administration. Also the town of Lewisburg is a very nice place. Very small town but a lot of culture. Anyway, I'm probably repeating myself. Here's a link to that thread with some other posts about WVSOM on it that might be of help to you as well:
