have you gotten any info like financial aid, etc?

All I have received so far was a letter explaining the financial aid process (I think I got it early Feb or so). Supposedly they are supposed to notify us about financial aid packages sometime around the beginning of April. Do you have housing already?

I am thinking of buying a house and then finding a roommate. The prices in Morgantown seem pretty affordable.

You must be aware, there will be no instate tuition for your entire time here at WVU- this adds up to over 50k/yr with living added... Also, note WVU has a >12% remediation record... which means, that more than 12% (and I am being conservative here) of any class in the last 3 years has repeated/re-taken one or more classes... thought you should know. AN

I recently got accepted and I'm going to WVU! :hardy:

Never been to WV a day in my life tho aside from my interview so I have no idea about places to live. Any tips?

Can't OOS applicants apply for in-state residency?

not going to wvu, but i grew up in the area so if you have any questions about the state, feel free to pm 🙂

I just graduated from WVU undergrad, and I will be attending WVU in the fall. I lived in Morgantown until I was 15, and then I came back for undergrad. I love Morgantown and West Virginia, and if anyone has any questions about the area or anything send me a pm. 🙂

Oh yeah, and I received my financial aid package recently. I think most of the scholarships go to WV students, unfortunately for some of you. However, since I was already a WVU student my account is all set up. I think they wait to send us more info later in the summer. Can't wait for my new computer!

bump!

I just got accepted to WVU and will probably go there. Can anyone who knows the area give me some tips on where to live? Maybe names of fairly nice apartment buildings around the med school (hopefully ones that aren't infested by roaches like my current living quarters). Thanks!

If you're on facebook join the "WVU Med School Class of 2011" group, a bunch of us last year were able to get together before classes started and it was nice to know some people during orientation (especially for us out-of-staters).

Will do. Thanks 🙂

Hey, I'm heading to WVU next year as well...I didn't realize there was a thread in this sub-forum.

I'm staying at the med center apartments...is anyone else staying there?
