This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My students are immigrants from Spanish speaking countries and go to severely under resourced schools. I have written about this experience extensively as one of my meaningful activities although the hours are low so am unsure if its sufficient to demonstrate service orientation. Given this new information, should I exclude service oriented schools on my list such as Boston University and UCD?
I would keep UCDavis if you grew up in the Sac Valley area. A lot of the UC's prefer applicants from their region. I would check out all the PRIME programs and see if any may fit your purpose as a physician.

You need at least 150 hours of service orientation activities by the time you submit your application: food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation. Working with underserved communities is a different dimension separate from the activities. As for your activities, I need more information if you have also done any of the aforementioned activities with the same population.

You could add any of these schools to your application:
Kaiser
California University
Washington University (in St. Louis)
Western Michigan
George Washington
Drexel
Temple
Hofstra
New York Medical College
Tufts
