What do you say when supplemental application essays ask y you want to attend their dental school? So lost. Any advice would help, I honestly dislike these supplemental application questions, so easy yet so much thinking...Thanks

You misread his post. He is asking how he should respond to why he wants to attend that specific dental school, not why he wants to attend dental school.

To answer the op's question, I don't know!!! I mean, do they want us to tell them how GREAT of a school they have? Because I honestly have no idea which school is better. I will have a better idea once I'm a senior at their school LOL.

I, too, am interested in people's opinion on how to answer this question!

I usually just go on the schools website and read their mission statement, motto, etc and try to relate my application to that. For instance, if a school is very big on community service, I try to put great emphasis on MY community service projects and show them how important that is to me and that it is great that the school puts so much emphasis on that.

If youre interested in clinical experience and the school puts a lot of emphasis on clinic and sim lab and stuff like that...say that you love that about the school.

I would suggest reading up on the schools and trying to relate things in your application to the school.

I am a female by the way..everyone goes off making assumptions that its a guy. what about the women. Lord! check out their website....everyone likes the school for their own reasons......i think your best bet would be to research the schools website.

Ditto. I also visit the school's website & try to digest much as possible. I like to intermingle my personal reasons with the school's motto. 🙂

The responder is probably a guy and so he assumed he was talking with one. If a woman had responded, she might have assumed otherwise, but is she more right because she guessed right? We humans do this all the time - project qualities onto others based on what we want them to be. Don't take it too hard. Women are great dentists too.
