They are still controlled by doctors. It is simply another form of telemedicine or remote medicine.

This would obviously work well in underserved areas.

A lot of older people are not comfortable using the self-check-out aisle at the grocery store. I highly doubt they'd be comfortable with a robot doctor. One man's nerdy little fantasy is not going to be a reality as people will always prefer human opinions for big issues such as their health.

Someone said the other day: Go into FP if you like talking to people....because that's most of what you'll do. Not doctoring, but interviewing.

I plan on doing some minor surgical procedures, too....

I don't think interviews conducted by AI as I currently understand it will ever replace a person....however, I do like science fiction. I see robot soldiers deployed by 2020....

I saw Star Wars 3 over the weekend and they had Ob/Gyn robots to deliver babies. Pretty cool, isn't it.......
