Year off

I'm a second year medical student about to start my 3rd year. I want to take a year off in between 3rd and 4th year...I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on what to do. I was thinking an internship for most of the year and maybe some volunteer/traveling for about a month or two. If anyone knows any good programs/internships/traveling abroad programs that would be awesome! Ideas??
