So,

My Stats:

-GPA- (low)
Sci: 2.81
Non-Sci: 2.87
Cum: 2.84

I don't really have a "trend" to speak of.

FR (S)2.65 (NS)2.48 (CUM)2.51
SO (S)3.57 (NS)3.04 (CUM)3.15
JR (S)3.22 (NS)3.09 (CUM)3.17
SR (S)2.38 (NS)3.00 (CUM)2.45

-MCAT-
29N
11P 11V 7B N
I improved my Physical 3 points from my (6)practices' average, but my writing went down 2 and my Bio down 2. Honestly, I didn't feel well after lunch (drowsy and sluggish with heartburn), and I think that attributed to my drop after lunch.

-My ECs-
-Emergency Room Volunteer- nearly 150 hours in a level 1 trauma center
-D.A.R.E. Role Model- Spoke with elementary students about high school
-TCF Bank- Job for 5 years, since high school
-Entivity, Inc- Job for 1 year, computer programming
-Baseball Coach- Coached 11-12 YOs
-Hockey Coach- Coached 11-12 YOs
-English Conversation Partner- Talk and Gave advice to a foreign exchange student
-Hockey- Played Goalie for nearly 10 years, including high school varsity

-LORS-
I have 4 LORs, 2 from science profs (only one actually received), one non-science (received) and one from an ER attending physician DO (not received).

I applied to CCOM, UHSC, DMUC, KCOM, MSUC, WVSO, MDNJ, WUHS, NSUC, UNEC, LECO, AZCO, TULV, VCOM, TUCO and LEBRA.

What do you guys think? Mostly I'm worried about my GPA... 🙁

Your GPA is pretty low. It's hard to tell, but you may still have a chance. I would consider going to post-bac in case you don't get in this cycle as a back up.

Yea, i agree. your mcat/EC are good enough. Assuming your LORS are strong and your PS is sparkling, your only soft point is the GPA. The GPA is low for DO schools but it helps if you applied very early and wish for the best.

Over all i think you are borderline because of the GPA.

Who knows you may get an interview, make sure to kick ass in it.. but no one on this forum can really tell you about your chances of getting in since 1. no one here is an admission comittee officer and 2. the admissions process is somewhat arbritrary.
All in all,
Good Luck

I think your application is solid except for that GPA. You can give it a try but you should plan to retake a few of those low grades to boost the GPA to at least 3.0 in case you don’t make it this year. AACOMAS will REPLACE your old grades with new ones if you retake courses which can dramatically affect your GPA. Replace two Fs with As for example, which you can do part time over one semester and it should give you a nice boost. Don’t give up you have come a long way, and give it a shot, you are more than just a number and that MCAT score shows you can do it. I think you have a decent shot this year. Good luck

Was the DARE thing post secondary?

No, it was 2nd semester of my senior year of HS. Does that mean it doesn't count anymore?

How long ago did you send all of your applications? No interview invites yet? Your MCAT should pull you through, despite the low GPA's. When and if you are asked for invites, they will ask you about your grades. Do you have an "excuse" or story that will explain? With good EC's and LOR's you should be alright. Good luck.

I think I read a post recently saying that the OP had an acceptance somewhere.
So I think Congratulations are in order 😀

Good deal, congratulations.

Retake some scinec courses that you got C's in. That should be enough to boost your GPA above 3.0

Thanks for the well wishes. It appears I will be going to LECOM-FL next year (thank god, no more winter!) I had a total of four interviews, I went to three of them, and I got one acceptance, one rejection, and I am still waiting on LECOM-PA's response, not that I will go there (too cold).

Regarding my GPA, I just told them the truth: I don't learn well in lecture-test format. That's why (here comes the speech) "I am really looking forward to attending your university, as I think I will thrive in the PBL environment, as it is more personal and self motivating."

My ECs were solid I think (see above) and I know two of my LORs made me sound like a saint (I got to read those ones) and the other two, I assume were good, since they got me into med school.

Anyway, back to studying for my Biochem test... Sigh...

Congrats and enjoy the sun!

Why would he bother? He got in.

Obviously I didn't know that he already got accepted. The post said they thought they saw his name on an acceptance thread.

You have a chance at UNE-COM, KCOM, & AZCOM.

I don't really see you hearing from MSU-COM, DMU-COM, & CCOM.
