Once again let me know about what you think about my selection of schools. Money is not a problem by the way. Thanks.

I think you have a good shot at DO schools.

If you are set on MD schools at all, I would take the MCAT again. Without that, I think it is going to be really tough to make headway anywhere...I wouldn't worry so much about the MCAT score if it was the VR that was 8 or less, but I would think an adcom might worry about Bio being so low since you have obviously had a lot of exposure to bio classes through the pre-med pre-reqs. Obviously, there are exceptions (and I too am hoping to be an exception on another front), and if you went to a really competitive undergrad, have super unique and amazing ECs that really set you apart, and have amazing LORs, you may have a shot, but I think it is a very long shot...

I know someone who had a 3.9 AO and BCPM GPA, mid-20s MCAT score, pretty good ECs, who got into just his state school (MD, didn't apply DO), so it can happen....

Good luck!

Hey thanks for the advice. Yea I am definitely applying to DO school and I know I have a good shot for that. But I am still appling to MD althought its a long shot. I might as well try to see if it works this time around. If not I can always wait a year and take the MCAT over. But then if I get into a DO school, then i would have the decision of turning it down to wait another yr to take the mcat again and reply. what should i do regarding this. any suggestions. Thanks.

Oklahoma wants you to show a tie to the state, so hopefully you can come up with one or you might want to consider not applying there.

With the possible exception of MSU (I don't know if he's applying to MSU's MD or DO program) there aren't any DO schools listed.

To the OP: Do you have a list of DO programs to apply to?

All the schools I listed are MD schools. I havent thought about which schools to apply to for DO ones, but thats only cause I havent started applying for them yet. I know I will, but I wanted to send my MD application out first hopefully by tonight if I can get the schools list finalized. Right now, just wondering what the thoughts are about my list of MD schools.

Props on being realistic. Have you thought about a few more DO schools along with Albany and Jefferson?
I've thought about albany and jefferson. Albany's average mcat score is now a 31. plus they get millions of applicants. I dont think they'd give me a good look so I dont know. What do you guys think. I dont know about Jefferson though, but I may look into it now that it was mentioned

Yea might need to read into oklahoma a bit more. Thanks.

Meharry Medical College - I would not apply there unless you can claim to be "African-American" or another minority.

I don't know why I thought I saw a DO school listed, but you should apply DO for sure. I think it's fine to apply to Meharry even if you aren't African American. You may not get in, but it's worth taking a shot. Also, you might want to consider applying to Howard if you have a strong record of community service. I know they have students who are not African American.

definitely add albany and jefferson, and maybe drexel. especially since money is not a problem.

ou doesn't take too many oos, and those they do accept tend to have some sorta connection to the state or are a surrounding state. although, i'm sure there are plenty of exceptions, and it sounds like you can 'make it rain' so why not 😀

I was in a similar situation as you. i had a slighly better mcat with a 3.8 gpa sci and non-sci. great EC research blah blah
I also applied broadly and would strongly urge you to re-consider. after my 2ndaries i did not get any interview invites from my OOS schools (IL resident). i applied to like 17 schools in total a list quite similar to yours. I would remove UIC as its a state school. i was able to interview at uic, rosalind franklin, and mcw. i would suggest you apply to the latter 2. if $$$ isn't a issue for you, it wasn't for me much, then apply. but i still feel that i wasted quite a few pretty pennies.
you are competitive for do schools and should submit the aacomas by mid sept.

OP i don't think you should remove UIC because it's a state school...i was accepted and i am OOS without stellar stats. they are known to interview and accept a good number of OOSers. i would, however, remove UIC if you don't think you want to foot the nearly $60K/yr OOS tuition...that's tuition ALONE
