I did my last rotation at a compounding pharmacy, and the majority of the prescriptions that we processed were for bio-identical hormones. I've always been a little skeptical about them, and after recently reading this article at quackwatch, I'm even more so.
What's your opinion on them? So far, the best that I can say is that they are excellent money makers for compounding pharmacies, but I don't think that the 100s of different formulations that are available are necessary.
