1. Just how easy/hard is it to get into the flight surgery program, with the "supposed" cuts in the number of GMOs?

2. After one completes their flight surgery tour, is their any limitation to what residencies you can apply to (i.e. if you did a non-surgical intern year, are you likely to match in a surgery residency)?

1) Not overly hard. Most will be selected who apply. While GMOs are being cut, there will always be spots for those who want them.

2) There are no limitations as to which residency you may apply. If you have not completed the prescibed internship, you may have to repeat all or part of it as a resitern, but that is not related to having been a flight surgeon.
