July MCAT is fine... It gets uploaded by mid-August when programs start working on selecting students for early interviews.

I just looked at the national (interim) acceptance report. About 160 MD/PhD acceptees still have 2 or more acceptances with most of them deciding between 2 MD/PhD programs. Although many of these decisions are already made, it takes up to a week for admission officers to update the website. In any case, the point for potential applicants is that about 25% of positions are decided this late. Programs tend to admit an extra applicant or two because expected attrition prior to matriculation. This explains why a program might have 4 matriculants one year and 7 the following year.

Thanks for those stats, Fencer! I still have my fingers crossed to off one of two wait-list for my 'dream programs', so I was wondering how much movement is left, this time of year.

Now that we're past the multiple acceptance deadline, has anyone out there got pulled off a wait-list recently? Or perhaps it takes a few days for admission officers to get things sorted?

I got pulled off of two waitlists on Tuesday night, and have heard from others that more movement is likely in the coming weeks. I think students in my position are given roughly a week to decide on these new offers, after which the program(s) we turn down will offer the open spot to the next person on the waitlist. I imagine this is a continuous process until the incoming class is entirely filled, which may take a while for some programs. Keep the faith! MSTP waitlists are often pretty fluid!

Yeah, I've been wondering this too... sounds like there is a lot of waitlist movement, but for how long....

Do you mind me asking how you found out you're #1 on the waitlist? Did you just email the director and get that back? I've been getting only general comments, or ignores...

All the best luck though... I imagine your chances are pretty good if you're at the top of the list!
