2012-2013 MD/PhD Application Interview Invites

I think the issue with that from a medical school's standpoint is that they know you applied MD/PhD and think that it's the path you really would like to do (i.e. would choose any MD/PhD program over their MD-only program.) My question is given that, would it be even worth it to interview with an MD program after being rejected by their MD/PhD program?

If you're really set on a school, some accept applicants from their M1 and M2 classes. Depends how bad you want to MD/PhD and/or specific school.

It's a pretty real possibility. Got one for Wash U and Yale. We're at a disadvantage time-wise but I think MD/PhD applicants are pretty strong MD only candidates too.

Yeah, Wash U frequently does this, but IIRC they were the only school to offer me a MD interview after I got a MSTP rejection (take that with a grain of salt though--it has been a long time).

I got an email Jan 11th saying the following:

"We plan to begin issuing interview invitations over the next month or so, and this will continue through the winter and early spring. We expect to interview roughly 20-30 candidates"

I haven't heard from them yet... what's their deal with starting interviews so late in the game? WTF!

It makes me want to withdraw from the program before hearing from them due to their disorganization and lack of effort... if it wasn't because it's in DC I would withdraw, but the city is awesome so I'm stayin... for now!

Some programs are still interviewing, but I would expect almost all of the invites to be out. I think Georgetown interviews pretty late, but don't hold me to that.

With March 15 being the deadline for programs to admit at least enough students to fill their class, I would be surprised if anyone interviews after that date.
