Here's the traditional template of "what to post", but obviously it's not critical. Just share your excitement in any way that you want.

Talked to some ortho friends and they differed in when they received their "congratulations" or "try again next year" email from MATCH. Some said 8AM Eastern Time on the dot others said they received their email later - around 9/10 am. In the past OMFS MATCH threads responses have ranged from 8-9 AM while some claimed they came as early as 6AM.

Officially, you can view the match results HERE at 11:59AM eastern - beginning the post match scramble. Just a reminder to get everything together in the unfortunate case of not matching.

Good luck! It was a pleasure meeting many of you on the interview trail.

Amped to see who my rookies are for next year.

In the spirit of tradition I'm gonna repost the poem my wife wrote prior to my match:

Match Eve Poem
My wife is one of the most clever writers I know. She just wrote this and showed it to me. I thought you all could appreciate it.

Match Eve poem by Mrs. Scarn

tWas the night before match day and all through the house
Not an applicant was sleeping, not even their spouse.
All the rank lists were numbered, submitted with care,
in the hopes that school "number one" soon would be theirs.

Hopefuls everywhere nestled snug in their beds,
while visions of third molars danced in their heads.
And me in my scrubs, i turned off the light,
and settled myself in for the world's longest night.

When from my iPhone there came such a clatter,
i sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the charger I ran in a dash; the screen came alive in a brilliant white flash.

The box on the screen blinked to notify me
It had just received an email that I needed to see.
And what to my wondering eyes should appear
but a subject line saying omfs match finally here!

In a rush of adrenaline, my patience was gone.
I'm done with this waiting, let the match bring it on!
As true as sdn my confidence came, and I whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

Now parkland! Now, Vanderbilt! Now, San Antonio or Unc!
On, Baylor! On, Oregon! On, Florida or Kentucky!
To my life's next six years! Now don't make me wait!
Now bring it on! Tell me! Show me my fate!

As if in slow motion, the email opened up.
My eyes scanned the page, my fingers crossed for luck.
In confusion I searched, come on, what's the catch?
And then, in awful clarity, the words, "you did not match".

My body went limp, eyes rolled back in my head.
My life flashed before my eyes. I fell back on the bed.
My throat was closing in! My lungs found no air!
My hands clawed my throat, and ripped out my hair!

This just couldn't be right! Was my mind playing tricks?
Could I really go on? Add another year to six?!
What had I done wrong? What qualities did I lack?
I must run far away and never come back!

"No, no!" moaned my voice in an unearthly tone.
I was ruined, defeated... The match had won!
I writhed in my misery, sweat soaking my scrubs.
I pled for some assistance, some help from above!

I opened my eyes to a glimmer of light, the clock on my nightstand showing midnight.
I bolted up straight, and off the bed I fell.
Somehow I had slept-and dreamed myself into hell!

I gasped for a breath, I reached for my phone.
No new messages! The email from hades was gone!
I laugh in hysterics, I feel I could dance! My fate yet undecided! I have another chance!

The night is still young. Several hours remain,
enough for at least 10 more nightmares of the same.
My pulse starts to slow, my head is finally clear.
There's still 6 dreaded hours until match day is here!

Good Luck everyone! Hoping for some solid Parkland rookies...

Looks like we will be co-residents!

Does anyone know if one has done with GPR residency which was funded by the Graduate Medical Education funds then your application for OMFS won't be accepted?

I'd recommend checking out dollarshaveclub.com. They have some incredible prices on razors and shaving paraphenalia, and you're going to need a lot of them because, as one of your rising 5th years, I recommend silky smooth ankles and calves for maximum grip.

I was wondering where that was headed...

Sounds like you have been speaking with Brookdale. They told me the same thing. They have it written on their website/pass page. Not sure what the hell that's all about!

Yes indeed that's what I was told by them. I have to check their website then if it was indicated there. Thanks

If you've attended a GME funded residency before then your PGY status is no longer 1, meaning they would have to pay you more...and in new york for some unimportant reason they don't want to accept these residents

I can't believe brookdale is still filling spots. I know LSU is filled, what about mount sinai?

I was hoping more people would post so we can see how the NBME played a role in matching. This thread has 7,666 views and only 8 people posting where they matched... Pretty poor showing compared to years past. What gives?

Anyone know much about the OMFS program at USC? Any extern/internship experiences? Thanks in advance.

UConn did pretty well this year as well. 7/7 for OMFS

...and how old is that punchline phrase?

Congrats to those who matched. UNC had 3 match out of four (2 @ 6 yr powerhouse programs and one solid 4 yr program) match. However, that dude has a nice internship lined up at a stout program in Texas.
