Some quick questions!
  • Why not VT Carillion? Is it because of its focus on rural comm?
  • All my brothers live in CA and are residents, so Cali is my ideal location. How can I convey this via the primary app since UC screens? Is it worth tossing my app in there anyways since they screen?
  • I haven't taken any psychology courses... MCW out? If so, should I replace with any?
  • Are there any other reaches in my list? I noticed that a few of them were taken out, so how many should I aim for?

My perception of VT is that it likes people from the neighboring states. I don't have any info on state of origin of their matriculate, alas, maybe my pal the learned gyngyn can help?

Adcoms there aren't going to care. 2/3rds of CA applicants have to leave the state because it's so hypercompetitive. Your stats would be marginal for most UC schools even as a CA resident!

If you like hot and muggy and great food, there's always Tulane.

I'm not a fan of reaches, as I believe In being realistic. Hence, only Vandy or Pitt were on themlist. You're in low striking distance. Your call.

Just wondering why you removed Georgetown but left for example Rochester? From the average scores isn't Georgetown lower than Rochester? Or is there something else you considered?

Probably because it's low yield, basically. They receive soooo many applications every year.

That's my impression as well. However, a great number of my friends are applying to GT as well, and I think we do feed some students into that school since it's so close. I think I may end up applying

Ahh that makes sense

But then looking at Jefferson, they also have a high number of applicants (10017 vs Georgetown's 11173). Their scores are also similar. Is there a difference between those two?
