Hello,
I applied last year but received no acceptances. I believe this was due to my primary being verified in late October, applying to a narrow range of schools, and being generally naïve about the application process. This year I will be ready to submit on day one and now have a better understanding of the process. I would like some input regarding my list of schools. I want to include enough safe schools while also taking a couple chances.
ECs overview
Volunteer non clinical (200 hrs)
Greek leadership positions
Intern athletic trainer (1200 hrs)
Clinical assistant (750 hrs)
Volunteer clinical (120 hrs)
PCA (500 hrs)
Lab assistant (800 hrs)
Recently began a medical scribe position
School list (Midwestern resident)
University of Minnesota (family ties)*
Indiana (family ties)*
MCW*
Rosalind Franklin*
Creighton*
Mayo clinic*
St. Louis University
Western Michigan
Rush*
Drexel
Oakland
Northwestern
Penn St.
Loyola
North Dakota
VCU
Boston U
Tufts
* = reapplicant
Any advice is appreciated!
