Hi! I'm looking for ideas on what OOS schools (non-Californian) I'd have a shot at for this cycle. I'm a bit worried about my EC's but I still want to give it a try this year. Would really appreciate any help!!

Stats:
MCAT: 523 (C/P 131, CARS 129, B/B 131, P/S 132)
GPA: 3.98
Residency: CA
East Asian

ECs:
EMT: 400 hours
Research: 300 hours (2nd author on an abstract)
Shadowing: 20 hours (ongoing, will be up to ~100 by next year)
Non-medical Volunteering: 200 hours

Current School List:
Harvard
Stanford
WUSTL
NYU
Emory
Rochester
Iowa
Kansas
All Texas schools

I'm also considering:
Cincinnati
Nebraska
Stony Brook
VCU
Wayne State
UNC
UVA
USF
Penn
Brown
Duke
Chicago
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
Case
Hofstra
Yale
Mayo
Cornell
Pittsburgh
Colorado

You don’t need 100 hours of shadowing but you do need 50, including some with a primary care doc. You should have those now. What are your nonclinical volunteering activities? It’s very hard to give you good advice without more information.

how did you come up with that school list (eg why Kansas)? it seems a bit random
your stats are fantastic but I would personally recommend a gap year to beef up on your EC’s. if you want to apply this year though, I would apply very broadly
