I noticed that the section bank had a lot of stuff in biochem that wasn't stated on the AAMC content outline or in any of my prep books (for example, enzyme efficiency).

Does the real exam have a lot of questions on stuff that wasn't on the outline?

Yeah, but that are "related" concepts. The outline is only a good place to start studying. Knowing every keyword on the outline has nothing to do with how stuff will be presented on the test.

There are countless ways that they can test even a simple term on the outline like "gene regulation". They can say "what is DNA methylation" or they can give a passage talking about how A turns on B turns on C turns off D turns on E, etc.
