I'm applying to doctorate programs in counseling and clinical psychology for Fall 2013. Luckily, my current advisor (in my master's program in counseling) agreed to view my statement of purpose and give feedback. Because I'm applying to the PhD program within the same school, I'm not sure if I should send her my essay for this program or for an outside program. Any suggestions?
For one thing, I don't want my advisor (who works for the doc program too) to think that I seem a better fit for another program than for this one as she might when she reads my statement for the outside program. On the other hand, I don't want there to be any possible conflict of interests for her to not give me candid feedback which will perhaps enhance my application.
