Applicants Holding Positions at Multiple Institutions. Dental schools participating in ADEA AADSAS will report to ADEA AADSAS by March 1 the names of candidates who hold a position in their entering class. After March 5, ADEA AADSAS will report to each institution the names of candidates in their entering class who are holding acceptance(s) at additional institutions. (Only names are reported with no other additional information.) The process for candidates holding multiple positions is as follows:
a. Dental schools with candidates holding multiple positions on March 1 of the year of admission will contact such candidates and give them a minimum 15-day notice to affirm their position in the class or to withdraw their position.
b. If the candidate does not respond within the allotted notification time frame, the dental school may choose to withdraw the candidate from the entering class.
c. Notification times may be shortened after April 15.
d. Dental schools will have the option of rescinding an offer of admission to candidates who are holding positions at multiple institutions.

so, in mid march, there will be waitlist movement

if it's the third week in march, and you are have not been accepted off a waitlist, it's time to get ready for next cycle
there may be a little movement after that, but it's not guaranteed and you should start preparing for a new AADSAS app just in case...

oh, thank god.
In comparison, will the movement be relatively more abundant than it was ~Jan 15th, or less?
Obviously most schools are different- I'm sure some will have less movement than others, but is there a general principal?

There is generally movement, but that depends on how early some people are with narrowing down to one offer before March 1.

How do waitlists work?

less than jan 15..,.

less than jan 15..,.
jan 15 had movement because there were high stats people who were holding multiple spots at IS/OOS publics and ivies and some privates as safeties
and medium stats people who had 2 or 3 acceptances
march movement is people who made 2 or 3 deposits while still undecided
so most of the movement will be those few who get into their IS school at the last minute or the people deciding between an expensive OOS public vs similar priced private
there will be shifting, leaving spots open mostly at the privates, especially the expensive ones...
