Advice from admitted dental students

Hello, i am currently a predental student and an x-premed student. I would just want some advice from dental students or predent students. What would you recommend doing in your undergraduate years to make sure you will get into dental school.

Everything you need to do. DO THIS, I Guarantee acceptance at at least one school:


1) Get all As and Bs. (mostly A's, like 3.6 GPa (overall and science)
2) Do research with a professor you like.
3) Get a letter of recommendation from him.
4) Get a letter of recommendation from 2 more science teachers that you
got A's in.
5) Go shadow your dentist.
6) Get a letter of rec from your dentist
7) Make sure you join some clubs and have an active leadership position in
those clubs.
8) Make sure you volunteer at at least 10 different places during your
college career.
9) Write an awesome applicant essay.
10) Buy a nice suit (males and females), and go into the interview with
confidence!

THATS IT. 10 SIMPLE STEPS TO GAIN ENTRANCE TO DENTAL SCHOOL.

do you really have to take the DAT? I thought that if you just contacted dental schools and expressed interest they would just admit you? You really need to do well in undergrad?
