AF EM civilian deferral

Hi,
Can we only apply to 1-2-3 EM programs for civilian deferral? The AF IFB results list program length as 36 months which is why I ask. Thanks!

Good question. I don't know the answer. I think the deferrals specify 36 months, but I suspect one could do a 2-4 program if one had already done an internship prior to the military match. I'm not sure how the military would look on a 1-4 program. You might consider emailing Linda Lawrence, the AF EM specialty advisor (and president of ACEP BTW.) PM me if you want the email.

the navy also had EM as 36 mos. However I was given a deferment and they had no problem when I matched my top choice (a 1-4).
