Air guard pulling STRAP for residents this year

Just found out the air guard is no longer providing the STRAP (specialized training assistance program) for residents (hopefully just for now). Army guard still gives the stipend pay.

Just curious if anyone has any further information on why it was pulled and if it will be coming back!?

My guess is they pulled it for the same reason any recruiting benefit goes away, they aren't having a problem recruiting.

Edit: I will add that the ANG seems to have a lot more regional variation regarding benefits than even the ARNG. Are you sure this is a national change? Any word on loan repayment?
