Am I doing Anki wrong?!

I has 890 cards due today. I spent a total of about 8-10 hours just going through all of the cards. Anki recorded that I did ~1600 cards in 3.8 hours (8.37s/card),

I went online and people talk about finishing their 400-500 cards in 1-1.5 hours. I spent about 5x that time to go for ~900 cards. What's wrong with me?!
