Any Good Intro to Dentistry Books?

Hey,

I am looking to buy a good intro to dentistry book to read over the summer to increase my familiarity w/ dentistry in addition to all the shadowing I've done. It would be nice to have a reference to further explorer or re-examine things discussed with the dentist while shadowing.

I was thinking maybe a dental assisting textbook would be good. Any other suggestions for a book that covers a wide range of stuff including procedures, basic oral health, oral anatomy and physiology, insurance, communication, office management, etc?

That book sounds like an interesting read. I've never read it personally though.

Try this book called "Dental Secrets."

Although it might be a little bit advanced for you now, it will be a good reference for dental school. The book is set up in a question-answer format, it is divided by discipline. It only covers dental disciplines though, no discussion of insurance, office management, etc.
