If a professor at your school is already doing research in a dental-related field, I don't see why not.

Most schools don't have thesis for anything dental related. Most schools have microbiology , but remember that you have to do research pertinent to a professors topic of study. You usually can't choose your own research. You are professors lab monkey, and you do the work they need.
