Planning on taking the DAT in June. My gpa isnt where I want it to be at because of health issues I had during my undergradate years. I ran for student body president and was elected at my university, researched with doctors, and volunteered over 100 hours. What are my chances with a low gpa.

How low of a GPA are we talking about here?

Lol, you sound so colloquial (but not in a bad way)

This is a good question none the less.

A 2.5-2.7 is pretty darn low, you may as well forget it, regardless of other activities and DAT. :(

A 2.8-3.0 is going to need a darn good DAT score (22+) accompanying it to get in (as well as an upward trend in grades and a shown committment to dentistry)

A 3.3 will have a shot with a 20+ DAT score at several schools. :)

A 3.4-3.5 can usually get in with slightly above avg DAT score. ;)

A 3.65 and 19.5 DAT is right around the average acceptance.:D
