unilateral destruction of auditory cortex at one side doesn't cause complete deafness of the ear at opposide side due to crossing of fibers
but why even bilateral damage of auditory cortex fails to cause complete deafness?

The cross-sectional fibers of the utrinial buds, embryologically, are derivatives of the plaviculatum previcium, so the resultant decussation causes parity between the two lancastral fissures' labra.
