BR said that the followed two compounds have multiple atoms being reduced? can anyone explain what they mean by this?


  • Cr2O7 2- + 6 e-
    chart
    Cr2O3
  • H2O2 + 2 e-
    chart
    2 OH-

Its doesnt mean different atoms are being reduced. Its saying that 2Cr atoms in the top reaction and 2O atoms in the bottom reaction are being reduced so you have to take that into consideration when doing the numbers.

Each Cr atom is really only gaining 3e-
