Hey all,

I matched in IM (east coast) and am likely to do GI fellowship, possibly on the west coast (because of my SO). What are generally considered the best 2-3 GI fellowships, and how do they compare to other top GI programs (e.g. Mayo, MGH, Hopkins)? I'm aiming for an academic career (clinical research and teaching).

Hard to go wrong with a UC program.

Thanks for the response. But there are plenty of programs that you potentially "can't go wrong with." It doesn't really answer my question.

All the UCs are very clinical. I interviewed at all of them and I echo'ed with Gastrapathy that you will be great for any type of career you wanna pursue. Stanford is very research heavy and lighter on the clinical side. UW is the last one on the list and also very clinical although probably less than UCLA and UCSF.
