I find a lot of conflicting information about the blood supply to various parts of the deep nuclei of the brain, in particular the thalamus, the lentiform nucleus, the caudate, and the internal capsule. I feel like for hte purposes of step 1 though, it should be pretty straightforward. So:

thalamus: posterior cerebral artery
internal capsule: mostly anterior choroidal (which comes of the ICA, right?), but the anterior portion is the anterior cerebral artery
caudate: anterior cerebral artery
lentiform (putament, globus): middle cerebral artery

Does this all sound correct?

yea, MCA gives off lentistriate arteries, which feeds many basal nuclei (if not all).

So youre saying the caudate would be fed by MCA? What about the internal capsule? I believe anterior choroidal is not usually coming off the mca

no you're right, I was just pointing out that you might not MCA on the exam but rather lenticulatestriate arteries, which come off the MCA. Everything else you said looks correct, although I haven't reviewed neuro as much as I want to.
