If bourgeois means middle class, in conflict theory why did Marx define it as meaning high class? Are there two separate meanings to bourgeois?

Because back in Marx’s day, bourgeoise meant high class citizens when industrialization really took off, but the definition changed over time. If you have time, try giving this play called “A doll’s house” by Ibsen a try. A very comical portrayal of late 19th century bourgeoise society.
