In the reference rxn shown in fig 2, the other organic product is: -OCH2CH3
RXN: Ester with CH2CH3 next to O and CH3 for the alkyl grp + NaOCH3 in HOCH3 yields Ester with CH3 on O and CH3 on alkyl grp.
Why isn't the other organix product an alcohol?
