I'm in Illinois so I don't know much about Cali but what worked for me is doing questions pertaining to the state. Most MPJE focus more on state level rather than federal bc most states are more stringent. I see you mentioned about having repeated questions but keeping them the same for one exam then changing them for the second which tells me you really need to put more time in learning the laws. I received repeats within the exam as well and also had doubts but I stuck with my answer bc I knew it was right. I've asked a friend of mine about cali law but haven't received a reply yet. As soon as I get more info I'll relay whatever info I get. Keep your chin up. I know it's demoralizing but these experiences will make you tougher person. I know you'll do well come next time.
